# §800.180. Summary cancellation of licenses.


A license may be summarily canceled when (a) the license has been under voluntary or automatic suspension for a period of 1 year and there has been no request for return of the license or a request for return of the license has been dismissed in accordance with [§ 800.172](/cfr/7/800.172.md); or (b) the licensee has died or fails to surrender the license in accordance with [§ 800.175(f)](/cfr/7/800.175.md?p=f).
