# §3011.2. Public inspection and copying.

- (a) **Background.** [5 U.S.C. 552(a)(2)](/usc/5/552.md?p=a-2) requires each agency to maintain and make available for public inspection and copying certain kinds of records.
- (b) **Procedure.** To gain access to OFM records that are available for public inspection, contact the Freedom of Information Act Officer by writing to the address shown in [§ 3011.4(b)](/cfr/7/3011.4.md?p=b) of this title.
