# §27.100. Purpose.


The purpose of this part is to enhance the security of our Nation by furthering the mission of the Department as provided in [6 U.S.C. 111(b)(1)](/usc/6/111.md?p=b-1) and by lowering the risk posed by certain chemical facilities.
