# §29.12. Preexisting uses.


The regulations in this subpart have no impact on permanent rights and rights-of-way in existence prior to acquisition by the United States, except those activities not explicitly authorized by a preexisting right-of-way, as well as activities that fall outside the footprint of such a right-of-way, are subject to [§ 26.41](/cfr/50/26.41.md) of this chapter and the procedures in this subpart.
