# §216.73. Disposition of fur seal parts.


Except for transfers to other Alaskan Natives for barter or sharing for personal or family consumption, no part of a fur seal taken for subsistence uses may be sold or otherwise transferred to any person unless it is a nonedible byproduct which:

- (a) Has been transformed into an article of handicraft, or
- (b) Is being sent by an Alaskan Native directly, or through a registered agent, to a tannery registered under [50 CFR 216.23(c)](/cfr/50/216.23.md?p=c) for the purpose of processing, and will be returned directly to the Alaskan Native for conversion into an article of handicraft, or
- (c) Is being sold or transferred to an Alaskan Native, or to an agent registered under [50 CFR 216.23(c)](/cfr/50/216.23.md?p=c) for resale or transfer to an Alaskan Native, who will convert the seal part into a handicraft.
