# §551.311. Subminimum wage.


An agency may, if it meets certain criteria published by the Office of Personnel Management, employ certain groups of less than fully productive employees (e.g., handicapped patient workers) at rates less than the minimum wage specified in [section 6(a)(1)](/cfr/5/6.md?p=a-1) of the Act.
