# §550.206. Waiver of repayment.


The head of an agency may waive in whole or in part a right of recovery of an advance payment under [5 U.S.C. 5524a](/usc/5/5524a.md) and this subpart if he or she determines that recovery would be against equity and good conscience or against the public interest under criteria established by the agency.
