# §1620.11. Scope.


This subpart applies to any individual participating in CSRS or FERS who:

- (a) Has been appointed or otherwise assigned to one of the cooperative extension services, as defined in [7 U.S.C. 3103(5)](/usc/7/3103.md?p=5);
- (b) Has entered on approved leave without pay to serve as a full-time officer or employee of an organization composed primarily of employees as defined by 5 U.S.C. [8331(1)](/usc/5/8331.md?p=1) and [8401(11)](/usc/5/8401.md?p=11); or
- (c) Has been assigned, on an approved leave-without-pay basis, from a Federal agency to a state or local government under 5 U.S.C. chapter 33, subchapter VI.
