# §831.3. Authority of Directors.


Subject to the provisions of [§ 831.2](/cfr/49/831.2.md) of this part and [part 800](/cfr/49/part800.md) of this chapter, the Directors of the Office of Aviation Safety, Office of Highway Safety, or Office of Railroad, Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Investigations, may order an investigation into any transportation accident.
