# §585.129. Purpose.


The purpose of these reporting requirements is to assist the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration in determining whether a manufacturer has complied with the minimum sound requirements of Standard No. 141, Minimum Sound for Hybrid and Electric Vehicles ([49 CFR 571.141](/cfr/49/571.141.md)).
