# §574.2. Purpose.


The purpose of this part is to facilitate notification to purchasers of defective or nonconforming tires, pursuant to Sections [30118](/usc/49/30118.md) and [30119](/usc/49/30119.md) of Title 49, United States Code, so that they may take appropriate action in the interest of motor vehicle safety.
