# §395.20. ELD applicability and scope.

- (a) **Scope.** This subpart applies to ELDs used to record a driver's hours of service under [§ 395.8(a)](/cfr/49/395.8.md?p=a).
- (b) **Applicability.** An ELD used after December 18, 2017 must meet the requirements of this subpart.
