# §385.417. Availability of motor carrier's safety permit number.


Upon request, a motor carrier must provide the number of its safety permit to a person who offers a hazardous material listed in [§ 385.403](/cfr/49/385.403.md) for transportation in commerce. A motor carrier's permit number also will be available to the public on the FMCSA Safety and Fitness Electronic Records System website at https://safer.fmcsa.dot.gov.
