# §384.205. CDLIS information.


Before issuing a CLP or a CDL to any person, the State must, within the period of time specified in [§ 384.232](/cfr/49/384.232.md), perform the check of the Commercial Driver's License Information System (CDLIS) in accordance with [§ 383.73(b)(3)(ii)](/cfr/49/383.73.md?p=b-3-ii) of this subchapter, and, based on that information, issue the license or, in the case of adverse information, promptly implement the disqualifications, licensing limitations, denials, and/or penalties that are called for in any applicable section(s) of this subpart.
