# §229.206. Design requirements.


Each locomotive used in occupied service must meet the minimum anti-climber, emergency egress, emergency interior lighting, and interior configuration design requirements set forth in AAR S-580 (incorporated by reference, see [§ 229.205](/cfr/49/229.205.md)).
