# §10.83. Improper maintenance of records.


Any officer or employee of the Department who willfully maintains a system of records without meeting the notice requirements of [§ 10.21(d)](/cfr/49/10.21.md?p=d) of this part is guilty of a misdemeanor and fined not more than $5,000 in accordance with [5 U.S.C. 552a(i)(2)](/usc/5/552a.md?p=i-2).
