# §6101.24. Closing the record [Rule 24].

- (a) **Closing the evidentiary record.** Unless otherwise ordered, the evidence as defined in [Rule 9(a)(1)](/cfr/48/9.md?p=a-1) ([48 CFR 6101.9(a)(1)](/cfr/48/6101.9.md?p=a-1)) is closed at the end of a hearing under [Rule 20](/cfr/48/20.md) ([48 CFR 6101.20](/cfr/48/6101.20.md)) or at the start of merits briefing when a case is submitted on the record under [Rule 19](/cfr/48/19.md) ([48 CFR 6101.19](/cfr/48/6101.19.md)).
- (b) **Closing the record for decision.** Unless otherwise ordered, the record for decision as defined in [Rule 9(a)](/cfr/48/9.md?p=a) ([48 CFR 6101.9(a)](/cfr/48/6101.9.md?p=a)) is closed when the Board receives the final scheduled brief on the matters to be decided.
