# §1.1151. Authority to prescribe and collect regulatory fees.


Authority to impose and collect regulatory fees is contained in section 9 of the Communications Act, as amended by [sections 101-103](/cfr/47/101-103.md) of title I of the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2018 (Pub. L. 115-141, 132 Stat. 1084), [47 U.S.C. 159](/usc/47/159.md), which directs the Commission to prescribe and collect annual regulatory fees to recover the cost of carrying out the functions of the Commission.
