# §53.05-3. Materials (modifies HG-401.2).


Materials for valves must be in accordance with HG-401.2 of Section IV of the ASME BPVC (incorporated by reference; see [§ 53.01-1](/cfr/46/53.01-1.md)) except that nonmetallic materials may be used only for gaskets and packing.
