# §169.101. Purpose; preemptive effect.


The regulations in this part set forth uniform requirements which are suited to the particular characteristics and specialized operations of sailing school vessels as defined in [Title 46](/cfr/46.md), United States Code [section 2101](/cfr/46/2101.md). The regulations in this part have preemptive effect over State or local regulations in the same field.
