# §132.200. General.

- (a) Except as provided by [paragraph (b)](#b) of this section, each OSV must be equipped with portable and semiportable fire extinguishers that comply with this subpart.
- (b) Each OSV of at least 6,000 GT ITC (500 GRT if GT ITC is not assigned) must, in addition to complying with the requirements necessary to satisfy § [125.105(a)](/cfr/46/125.105.md?p=a) and [(b)](/cfr/46/125.105.md?p=b) of this subchapter, be equipped with the number and type of portable and semiportable fire extinguishers listed in [§ 34.50](/cfr/46/34.50.md) of this chapter.
