# §111.60-19. Cable splices.

- (a) A cable must not be spliced in a hazardous location, except in intrinsically safe systems.
- (b) Each cable splice must be made in accordance with [Section 6.11](/cfr/46/6.11.md) of IEEE 45.8-2016 (incorporated by reference; see [§ 110.10-1](/cfr/46/110.10-1.md) of this subchapter).
