# §108.210. Hospital space not required.

- (a) The hospital space required under [§ 108.209](/cfr/46/108.209.md) is not required on a unit if one single or double occupancy sleeping space, designated and equipped as a treatment or isolation room or both is available for immediate medical use, and has—
  - (1) An entrance that is wide enough and arranged to readily admit a person on a stretcher;
  - (2) A single berth or examination table that is accessible from both sides; and
  - (3) **A washbasin in or immediately adjacent to it.**
