# §107.201. Purpose.


This subpart prescribes rules for the—

- (a) Original inspection and issuance of an original Certificate of Inspection required by 46 U.S.C. [3301](/usc/46/3301.md), [3307](/usc/46/3307.md) and [3309](/usc/46/3309.md);
- (b) Inspection for certification and renewal of a Certificate of Inspection required by 46 U.S.C. [3301](/usc/46/3301.md), [3307](/usc/46/3307.md), [3309](/usc/46/3309.md);
- (c) Annual and periodic inspections required by [46 U.S.C. 3308](/usc/46/3308.md);
- (d) Inspection after an accident required by [46 U.S.C. 3308](/usc/46/3308.md); and
- (e) Inspection of repairs or alterations, or both, required by 46 U.S.C. [3308](/usc/46/3308.md) and [3313](/usc/46/3313.md);
- (f) Amendments to Certificates of Inspection;
- (g) Issuance of Temporary Certificate of Inspection; and
- (h) **Issuance of Permit to Proceed to Another Port for Repairs.**
