# §800.111. Accreditation requirement.

- (a) **General requirement.** An MSP issuer must be or become accredited consistent with the requirements for QHP issuers specified in section 1311 of the Affordable Care Act and [45 CFR 156.275(a)(1)](/cfr/45/156.275.md?p=a-1).
- (b) **Release of survey.** An MSP issuer must authorize the accrediting entity that accredits the MSP issuer to release to OPM and to the Exchange a copy of its most recent accreditation survey, together with any survey-related information that OPM or an Exchange may require, such as corrective action plans and summaries of findings.
- (c) **Timeframe for accreditation.** An MSP issuer that is not accredited as of the date that it enters into a contract with OPM must become accredited within the timeframe established by OPM as authorized by [45 CFR 155.1045](/cfr/45/155.1045.md).
