# §503.10. Exemptions.


No system of records maintained by the Foreign Claims Settlement Commission is exempt from the provisions of [5 U.S.C. 552a](/usc/5/552a.md) as permitted under certain conditions by 5 U.S.C. [552a(j)](/usc/5/552a.md?p=j) and [(k)](/usc/5/552a.md?p=k). However, the Chair of the Commission reserves the right to promulgate rules in accordance with the requirements of 5 U.S.C. [553(b)(1)](/usc/5/553.md?p=b-1), [(2)](/usc/5/553.md?p=b-2) and [(3)](/usc/5/553.md?p=b-3), and [5](/usc/5/5.md) U.S.C. 553(c) and (e) to exempt any system of records maintained by the Commission in accordance with the provisions of [5 U.S.C. 552a(k)](/usc/5/552a.md?p=k).
