# §400.41. Definitions


For purposes of this subpart—

Applicant for asylum means an individual who has applied for, but has not been granted, asylum under [section 208](/cfr/45/208.md) of the Act.

Asylee means an individual who has been granted asylum under [section 208](/cfr/45/208.md) of the Act.
