# §71.1. Purpose of part.


This part implements section 11 of the Coastal Barrier Resources Act (Pub. L. 97-348) and section 9 of the Coastal Barrier Improvement Act of 1990 (Pub. L. 101-591), as those Acts amend the National Flood Insurance Act of 1968 ([42 U.S.C. 4001](/usc/42/4001.md) et seq.).
