# §3273.19. What are the bonding requirements for a site license?

- (a) For an electrical generation facility, the facility operator must submit a surety or personal bond to BLM for at least $100,000 that meets the requirements of [subpart 3214.BLM](/cfr/43/subpart3214.BLM.md) may increase the required bond amount. See subparts [3214](/cfr/43/subpart3214.md) and [3215](/cfr/43/subpart3215.md) for additional details on bonding procedures.
- (b) For a direct use facility, the facility operator must submit a surety or personal bond to BLM that meets the requirements of [subpart 3214](/cfr/43/subpart3214.md) in an amount BLM will specify.
- (c) The bond's terms must cover compliance with the requirements of [§ 3200.4](/cfr/43/3200.4.md).
- (d) Until BLM approves your bond, do not start construction, testing, or any other activity that would disturb the surface.
