# §2361.3. Authority.


The Naval Petroleum Reserve Production Act of 1976 (90 Stat. 303; [42 U.S.C. 6501](/usc/42/6501.md), et seq.), as amended by the Department of the Interior Appropriations Act, Fiscal Year 1981 (Pub. L. 96-514), is the primary statutory authority for this subpart. Other applicable authorities include the Alaska National Interest Lands Conservation Act ([16 U.S.C. 3101](/usc/16/3101.md) et seq.) and the Federal Land Policy and Management Act ([43 U.S.C. 1701](/usc/43/1701.md) et seq.), exclusive of sections [202](/cfr/43/202.md) and [603](/cfr/43/603.md), which do not apply pursuant to [42 U.S.C. 6506a(c)](/usc/42/6506a.md?p=c).
