# §8.29. Ex parte communications.


For the purposes of maintaining the equity of informal review proceedings, except for routine administrative and procedural matters or as described in §§ [8.22(2)](/cfr/42/8.22.md?p=2) and [8.27(e)](/cfr/42/8.27.md?p=e), a party shall not communicate with the reviewing or presiding official without notice to the other party.
