# §71.48. Carriers in intercoastal and interstate traffic.


Carriers, on an international voyage, which are in traffic between U.S. ports, shall be subject to inspection as described in §§ [71.31](/cfr/42/71.31.md) and [71.41](/cfr/42/71.41.md) when there occurs on board, among passengers or crew, any death, or any ill person, or when illness is suspected to be caused by insanitary conditions.
