# §6.1. Applicability.


This part applies to entities and individuals whose acts and omissions related to the performance of medical, surgical, dental, or related functions are covered by the Federal Tort Claims Act (28 U.S.C. [1346(b)](/usc/28/1346.md?p=b) and [2671-2680](/usc/28/2671-2680.md)) in accordance with the provisions of section 224(g) of the Public Health Service Act ([42 U.S.C. 233(g)](/usc/42/233.md?p=g)).
