# §441.150. Basis and purpose.


This subpart specifies requirements applicable if a State provides inpatient psychiatric services to individuals under age 21, as defined in [§ 440.160](/cfr/42/440.160.md) of this subchapter and authorized under section [1905 (a)(16)](/cfr/42/1905.md?p=a-16) and [(h)](/cfr/42/1905.md?p=a-h) of the Act.
