# §401.301. Basis and scope.


This subpart sets forth the policies and procedures for reporting and returning overpayments to the Medicare program for providers and suppliers of services under Parts A and B of title XVIII of the Act as required by [section 1128J(d)](/cfr/42/1128J.md?p=d) of the Act.
