# §136a.53. General rule.


Federal funds may not be used to pay for or otherwise provide for abortions in the programs described in [§ 36a.51](/cfr/42/36a.51.md), except under the Circumstances discribed in [§ 36a.54](/cfr/42/36a.54.md).
