# §301-30.1. Definition of employee emergency travel.


Employee emergency travel is travel resulting from:

- (a) Becoming incapacitated by illness or injury not due to the employee's own misconduct;
- (b) The death or serious illness of a member of the employee's “immediate family” as defined in [§ 300-1.1](/cfr/41/300-1.1.md) of this subtitle. The agency may, on a case-by-case basis, expand the definition of “immediate family” to include additional members of the employee's or spouse's/domestic partner's extended family; or
- (c) A catastrophic occurrence or impending disaster, such as fire, flood, or act of God, directly affecting the employee's home.
