# §85.1801. Applicability and definitions.

- (a) The recall provisions of [40 CFR part 1068](/cfr/40/part1068.md), [subpart E](/cfr/40/subpartE.md), apply instead of the provisions of this subpart for heavy-duty motor vehicles and heavy-duty motor vehicle engines regulated under [40 CFR part 86](/cfr/40/part86.md), subpart [A](/cfr/40/subpartA.md), and [40](/cfr/40/subpart40.md) CFR parts [1036](/cfr/40/part1036.md) and [1037](/cfr/40/part1037.md). The provisions of this subpart apply for other motor vehicles and motor vehicle engines.
- (b) For the purposes of this subpart, except as otherwise provided, words shall be defined as provided for by sections 214 and 302 of the Clean Air Act, [42 U.S.C. 1857](/usc/42/1857.md), as amended.
  - (1) Act shall mean the Clean Air Act, [42 U.S.C. 1857](/usc/42/1857.md), as amended.
  - (2) Days shall mean calendar days.
