# §721.9265. Reaction product of dichlorobenzidine and substituted alkylamide.

- (a) **Chemical substance and significant new uses subject to reporting.**
  - (1) The chemical substance identified generically as a reaction product of dichlorobenzidine and substituted alkylamide (PMN P-95-1282) is subject to reporting under this section for the significant new uses described in [paragraph (a)(2)](#a-2) of this section.
  - (2) **The significant new uses are—**
    - (i) **Hazard communication program.** Requirements as specified in § [721.72 (a)](/cfr/40/721.72.md?p=a), [(b)](/cfr/40/721.72.md?p=b), [(c)](/cfr/40/721.72.md?p=c), [(d)](/cfr/40/721.72.md?p=d), [(e)](/cfr/40/721.72.md?p=e), [(f)](/cfr/40/721.72.md?p=f), and [(g)(5)](/cfr/40/721.72.md?p=g-5). The label and SDS as required by this paragraph shall also include the following statements: At temperatures above 200 °C, this substance decomposes to produce a suspect human carcinogen, 3′,3′ dichlorobenzidine. Do not heat above 200 °C or 392 °F.
    - (ii) **Industrial, commercial, and consumer activities.** Requirements as specified in [§ 721.80(f)](/cfr/40/721.80.md?p=f) and processing or use of the PMN substance at temperatures above 200 °C.
- (b) **Specific requirements.** The provisions of subpart A of this part apply to this section except as modified by this paragraph.
  - (1) **Recordkeeping.** Recordkeeping requirements as specified in § [721.125 (a)](/cfr/40/721.125.md?p=a), [(b)](/cfr/40/721.125.md?p=b), [(c)](/cfr/40/721.125.md?p=c), [(f)](/cfr/40/721.125.md?p=f), [(g)](/cfr/40/721.125.md?p=g), [(h)](/cfr/40/721.125.md?p=h), and [(i)](/cfr/40/721.125.md?p=i) are applicable to manufacturers, importers, and processors of this substance.
  - (2) **Limitations or revocation of certain notification requirements.** The provisions of [§ 721.185](/cfr/40/721.185.md) apply to this section.
