# §721.11752. Quaternary ammonium salt of polyisobutene succinic acid (generic).

- (a) **Chemical substance and significant new uses subject to reporting.**
  - (1) The chemical substance identified generically as quaternary ammonium salt of polyisobutene succinic acid (PMN P-16-349) is subject to reporting under this section for the significant new uses described in [paragraph (a)(2)](#a-2) of this section.
  - (2) **The significant new uses are—**
    - (i) **Protection in the workplace.** Requirements as specified in § [721.63(a)(3)](/cfr/40/721.63.md?p=a-3), [(6)(vii)](/cfr/40/721.63.md?p=6-vii) and [(7)](/cfr/40/721.63.md?p=6-7), [(b)](/cfr/40/721.63.md?p=6-b) and [(c)](/cfr/40/721.63.md?p=6-c). For purposes of [§ 721.63(b)](/cfr/40/721.63.md?p=b), the concentration is set at 1.0%.
    - (ii) **Hazard communication.** Requirements as specified in § [721.72(a) through (f)](/cfr/40/721.72.md?p=a..f), and [(g)(1)(ix)](/cfr/40/721.72.md?p=g-1-ix), [(2)(i)](/cfr/40/721.72.md?p=g-2-i) and [(v)](/cfr/40/721.72.md?p=g-2-v), and [(5)](/cfr/40/721.72.md?p=g-2-5). For purposes of [§ 721.72(e)](/cfr/40/721.72.md?p=e), the concentration is set at 1.0%. Alternative hazard and warning statements that meet the criteria of the Globally Harmonized System and OSHA Hazard Communication Standard may be used.
    - (iii) **Industrial, commercial, and consumer activities.** Requirements as specified in [§ 721.80(k)](/cfr/40/721.80.md?p=k). It is a significant new use to manufacture, process, or use the substance in any manner that results in inhalation exposure. It is a significant new use to use the substance in any consumer product to be added to gasoline or diesel fuels by the consumer.
- (b) **Specific requirements.** The provisions of [subpart A](/cfr/40/subpartA.md) of this part apply to this section except as modified by this [paragraph (b)](#b).
  - (1) **Recordkeeping.** Recordkeeping requirements as specified in [§ 721.125(a) through (i)](/cfr/40/721.125.md?p=a..i) are applicable to manufacturers and processors of this substance.
  - (2) **Limitation or revocation of certain notification requirements.** The provisions of [§ 721.185](/cfr/40/721.185.md) apply to this section.
