# §63.9985. What is a new EGU?

- (a) A new EGU is an EGU that meets any of the criteria specified in [paragraph (a)(1) through (a)(2)](#a-1..a-2) of this section.
  - (1) **An EGU that commenced construction after May 3, 2011.**
  - (2) **An EGU that commenced reconstruction after May 3, 2011.**
