# §63.9980. What is the purpose of this subpart?


This subpart establishes national emission limitations and work practice standards for hazardous air pollutants (HAP) emitted from coal- and oil-fired electric utility steam generating units (EGUs) as defined in [§ 63.10042](/cfr/40/63.10042.md) of this subpart. This subpart also establishes requirements to demonstrate initial and continuous compliance with the emission limitations.
