# §63.748. Standards: Handling and storage of waste.

- (a) The owner or operator of each facility subject to this subpart that produces a waste that contains organic HAP from aerospace primer, topcoat, specialty coating, chemical milling maskant, or chemical depainting operations must be handled and stored as specified in paragraph [(a)(1)](#a-1) or [(a)(2)](#a-2) of this section. The requirements of paragraphs [(a)(1)](#a-1) and [(a)(2)](#a-2) of this section do not apply to spent wastes that contain organic HAP that are subject to and handled and stored in compliance with 40 CFR parts [262](/cfr/40/part262.md) through [268](/cfr/40/part268.md) (including the air emission control requirements in [40 CFR part 265](/cfr/40/part265.md), [subpart CC](/cfr/40/subpartCC.md)).
  - (1) Conduct the handling and transfer of the waste to or from containers, tanks, vats, vessels, and piping systems in such a manner that minimizes spills.
  - (2) **Store all waste that contains organic HAP in closed containers.**
