# §63.5130. When must I comply?

- (a) **For an existing affected source, the compliance date is June 10, 2005.**
- (b) If you own or operate a new affected source subject to the provisions of this subpart, you must comply immediately upon start-up of the affected source, or by June 10, 2002, whichever is later.
- (c) Affected sources which have undergone reconstruction are subject to the requirements for new affected sources.
- (d) The initial compliance period begins on the applicable compliance date specified in paragraph [(a)](#a) or [(b)](#b) of this section and ends on the last day of the 12th month following the compliance date. If the compliance date falls on any day other than the first day of a month, then the initial compliance period extends through that month plus the next 12 months.
- (e) **For the purpose of demonstrating continuous compliance, a compliance period consists of 12 months.** Each month after the end of the initial compliance period described in [paragraph (d)](#d) of this section is the end of a compliance period consisting of that month and the preceding 11 months.
