# §610.51. Mileage accumulation procedure.

- (a) Except as otherwise provided in this part, the mileage accumulation procedure will be that provided in [40 CFR part 86](/cfr/40/part86.md). This mileage accumulation schedule, or a suitable alternate procedure approved by the Administrator, will be used.
- (b) Fuel used in the accumulation of mileage will be commercial fuel available in the retail market and shall conform to the requirements of [40 CFR part 86](/cfr/40/part86.md) for mileage accumulation fuel.
  - (1) The requirements of this paragraph may be modified by the Administrator when it is a fuel or fuel additive that is being tested.
