# §61.148. Standard for insulating materials.


No owner or operator of a facility may install or reinstall on a facility component any insulating materials that contain commercial asbestos if the materials are either molded and friable or wet-applied and friable after drying. The provisions of this section do not apply to spray-applied insulating materials regulated under [§ 61.146](/cfr/40/61.146.md).
