# §60.6320. How does the model rule relate to the required elements of my state plan?


The model rule may be used to satisfy the state plan requirements specified in § [60.6265(a)(4)](/cfr/40/60.6265.md?p=a-4) and [(5)](/cfr/40/60.6265.md?p=a-5). Alternative language may be used in your state plan, but only if you can demonstrate that the alternative language is as protective as the model rule.
