# §60.5915. How are the data from the continuous emission monitoring systems used?

- (a) You must use data from the continuous emission monitoring systems for sulfur dioxide, nitrogen oxides, and carbon monoxide to demonstrate continuous compliance with the emission limits specified in Tables 1 and 2 to Subpart VVVV. To demonstrate compliance for dioxins/furans, cadmium, lead, mercury, particulate matter, opacity, hydrogen chloride, and fugitive ash, see [§ 60.5965](/cfr/40/60.5965.md).
- (b) You may elect to continuously monitor emissions for particulate matter, cadmium, lead, mercury, or hydrogen chloride to demonstrate continuous compliance with the emission limits specified in Table 2 to Subpart VVVV.
- (c) For pollutants that you continuously monitor as described in paragraphs [(a)](#a) and [(b)](#b) of this section, you may request that compliance with the emission limits be determined using carbon dioxide measurements corrected to an equivalent of 7 percent oxygen. The relationship between oxygen and carbon dioxide levels for the affected facility shall be established as specified in [§ 60.5930](/cfr/40/60.5930.md).
- (d) For pollutants that you continuously monitor as described in paragraphs [(a)](#a) and [(b)](#b) of this section, demonstrate compliance with the emission limits in Tables 1 and 2 to [Subpart VVVV](/cfr/40/subpartVVVV.md) by using the continuous emission monitoring system specified [§ 60.5910](/cfr/40/60.5910.md) to collect the minimum amount of monitoring data specified in [§ 60.5935](/cfr/40/60.5935.md) and calculating the average emission concentration as specified in [§ 60.5940](/cfr/40/60.5940.md) and Table 4 to [Subpart VVVV](/cfr/40/subpartVVVV.md), as applicable.
