# §60.3018. How do I renew my lapsed operator qualification?


You must renew a lapsed operator qualification by one of the two methods specified in paragraphs [(a)](#a) and [(b)](#b) of this section.

- (a) For a lapse of less than 3 years, you must complete a standard annual refresher course described in [§ 60.3017](/cfr/40/60.3017.md).
- (b) For a lapse of 3 years or more, you must repeat the initial qualification requirements in [§ 60.3016(a)](/cfr/40/60.3016.md?p=a).
