# §60.3017. How do I maintain my operator qualification?


To maintain qualification, you must complete an annual review or refresher course covering, at a minimum, the five topics described in [paragraphs (a) through (e)](#a..e) of this section.

- (a) **Update of regulations.**
- (b) **Incinerator operation, including startup and shutdown procedures, waste charging, and ash handling.**
- (c) **Inspection and maintenance.**
- (d) Prevention and correction of malfunctions or conditions that may lead to malfunction.
- (e) **Discussion of operating problems encountered by attendees.**
